Earthworks DK7 7-Piece Drum Mic Kit

The DK7 Drum FullKit System from Earthworks is a premium microphone drum kit made for capturing your full drum set. It's comprised of (7) quality condenser microphones: (4) DM20 precision engineered cardioid mics designed for close miking toms and snare, (2) SR25 cardioids for overhead pickup, plus (1) specially-engineered SR20LS (low sensitivity) for kick drum. This system can be deployed both in live performance as well as studio recording situations.

Performance - Whether live onstage or recording in the studio, this system captures a larger than life drum sound. Onstage, it delivers sound so natural and detailed that the sound emanating from the PA makes it seem like the drummer is right in front of you. When used for recording, it'll reproduce your drum kit with exceptional detail along with pristine sound, faithfully reproducing the true character of the performance.

It features a near-perfect cardioid polar pattern that remains consistent across all frequencies, thus simplifying mic positioning which virtually eliminates phasing issues, and ensures enhanced signal gain before feedback. The transient response of the DK7 is lightning fast, easily handling sharp attacks while still picking up all of the subtlety and nuanced dynamics of your playing. Even the loudest drummer won't overload the DK7 DrumMic™, which can deftly handle high sound pressure levels.

Construction - Built to stand up to the rigors of the road while still providing the audio quality that Earthworks is known for, the DK7 Drum FullKit offers the best of both worlds. Capable of withstanding a stray stick hit, the DM20 DrumMic takes the worry out of close-miking of toms and snare. Its right angle microphone head enables you to easily and precisely place the microphone where you'll get the best drum sound. Featuring a stiff yet flexible gooseneck, the microphone will stay put once you have found its sweet spot.

Mounting - An RM1 RimMount™ is included with the DK7 for directly mounting the DM20 tom and snare mics on the rim of either, reducing the number of required mic stands. Plus, you'll save on setup and teardown time by being able to store the DK7 in the carrying case with the mic clips still attached.
