From Etymotic Research, the T-coil version of The BEAN, part of the BEAN family of Quiet Sound Amplifiers, is engineered to be used with hearing-aid compatible telephones and loop systems. The Loop systems' name is based on the wire loop configuration that is placed around a room or a large area sending an electromagnetic signal to the T-coil BEAN, which then in turn converts that signal to sound. The benefits are enhanced when they're used for hearing in reverberant conditions or when a speaker is too far away to be heard clearly, even with amplification. This particular product is a single unit that comes colored in platinum.
