Product Overview

A 28 x 32 Thunderbolt/USB/AVB audio interface from MOTU, the 828es is a full-fledged 48-input digital mixer that comes with 7 stereo aux busses, 3 groups, access to 64 network inputs, and DSP (digital signal processing) effects. It features 48-channel console-style mixing, wireless control, AVB audio networking and very high quality A/D/A conversion at sample rates of up to 192 kHz for on-the-go mobile audio recording.

Its powerful DSP provides the large console-style 48-channel mixing, along with 12 stereo busses, as well as 32-bit floating point effects processing which includes modeled analog EQ, vintage compression, and classic reverb. With matrix routing, you can quickly patch ins to outs, or split inputs to multiple destinations.

Equipped with a variety of analog and digital interconnects, all simultaneously active, so it can operate as an audio interface for a studio workstation (DAW), as a standalone mixer, or as an auxiliary monitor mixing system for use in-studio or onstage.

MOTU Pro Audio Control App

MOTU Pro Audio Control is a web app that provides you with full control over the 828es. If you have several MOTU interfaces networked together, such as the 828es, 1248, and 8M, you can control all of them. If you are working with a large network of many MOTU interfaces, it lets you access any device on the network.

It's Not On Your Hard Drive

Served from the 828es hardware itself, the MOTU Pro Audio Control web app not an application on your computer's hard drive. Rather, you gain access to it using the MOTU Discovery app (in the Windows taskbar or the Mac menu bar), the MOTU Pro Audio WebUI Setup shortcut (Windows only) or through your web browser.

Use Your Favorite Web Browser

The MOTU Pro Audio Control web app can operate using any modern web browser on any device connected to the 828es, either wired directly or wirelessly via Wi-Fi®. This includes desktop computer, laptop, iPad, tablet, iPhone, or smart phone–if it can run a web browser, it can run the web app (Note: all external devices sold separately). And you can use any browser you prefer: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc., with the latest versions strongly recommended.

Control From Multiple Devices

You can run the web app simultaneously on multiple host devices.

Additionally, connecting an Apple® Airport™ or other Wi-Fi router (sold separately) with a standard Ethernet cable gives wireless control of mixing, device settings, and DSP.
