Product Overview

With Azden's infrared IRR-40P powered, dual-channel receiver, you can use 2 wireless microphones simultaneously, plus adjust system volume right from the IRN-20 pendant-style transmitter (sold separately). You can use 2 wireless microphones for “team-teaching, or, along with the mini-handheld microphone (IRN-30, sold separately) for student pass-around. It has 2 stereo auxiliary inputs, allowing for other line-level devices (CD players, MP3 players, VCRs, etc., all sold separately) to be connected and played through the system. It's also possible for the teacher to send the audio to a recorder or video camera (both sold separately) using the line-level output jack. For larger or odd-shaped rooms, up to 3 external sensors (sold separately) can be connected. With all 4 of the ceiling speakers connected to the IRR-40P, sound is equally spread throughout the room, so all students can hear the audio equally.

Infrared (IR) wireless microphone systems are perhaps the best solution for classrooms, because in today's RF-crowded world, a regular (VHF or UHF) microphone system risks interference from an array of other devices and sources. This includes cell phones, radios, TV, PA systems, police and emergency service systems, etc., which can all interfere with VHF and UHF, but NOT with IR. Furthermore, IR is ideal for classroom audio, since, unlike those other systems, IR is short-range, cannot penetrate walls, and is strictly line-of-sight. So what this means is that a school can have as many classrooms as desired that have individual audio systems, free from fear of interference. Also, since Azden's system is dual-channel, the teacher can be using one microphone while a second person can simultaneously be using another. In addition, since each classroom system uses the same pair of channels, teachers can move from room to room with no need to switch microphones.
