Product Overview

Since 1991, when it became the first microphone that broke the US$1000-barrier in its class, the AT4033 cardioid condenser microphone considered has been considered an essential product in most professional recording studios. The AT4033a is the latest edition of that legendary side-address mic, featuring internal electronics that have been somewhat updated with low-noise, symmetrical, transformerless circuitry, thus resulting in exceptional transient response and clean output signals. The capsule suspension system has been updated as well, in order to maximize the reduction of any adjustment noises or vibrations. A strong up-front presence characterizes the sonic signature of this 40 Series pro-audio classic, and its low 17dB noise, high sensitivity and high SPL (sound pressure levels) tolerance — up to 155dB with the 10dB pad engaged — keeps it competitive to this day, delivering excellent quality / price / performance ratio.
