Product Overview
TASCAM's flagship multi-track recorder for professional single-shooter video production, the DR-701D is a linear PCM Recorder/Mixer for DSLR cameras. For location reference, a timecode generator is included which can be jam-synced from a SMPTE generator, camera, or smart slate. It also features an HDMI in and out which enables a DSLR camera to start recording on both devices, and video clock prevents drift between sound and picture.
It has 4 mic inputs that can be individually recorded and mixed to a stereo track, thus providing for a total of 6-track recording. For additional tracks, multiple units can be cascaded together (additional units sold separately). The lightweight-yet-rigid chassis is fabricated from a magnesium alloy. Tripod mounts on the both the top and bottom of the device allow it to mount under a camera, affix to a follow-focus cage, or be implemented stand-alone.
Packing high-quality multitrack recording into a package compact enough for use with any camera, this exceptional recorder is great for the needs of all film/video professionals.

- The recording times shown above are estimates. They might differ depending on the SD/SDHC/SDXC card in use.
- The recording times shown above are not continuous recording times, but rather they are the total possible recording times for the SD/SDHC/SDXC card.
- If recorded in mono in WAV files, the maximum recording time will be double the figures above.
- For dual and 4-channel recording in WAV/BWF format, the recording times are about half those shown above.
