Westcott 2348 50" JS Apollo

The convenience of an umbrella meets the control of a softbox with the Westcott 2348 Apollo 50" Mega JS. Built on an umbrella frame, the Apollo light modifiers set up in seconds. No additional parts and pieces to lug around as these units simply open up just like an umbrella and set up in seconds making them perfect for any on-location photographer. While most softboxes require expensive and heavy adapter rings to properly set up, these units simply fit into the umbrella receptacle found on virtually all style studio lights.

The Apollo light modifier is a perfect pair with speedlites offering soft box control with the set up ease of an umbrella. An optional 5015 Shoe Mount bracket is required to mount the speedlite and Apollo onto a light stand with full tilting capability. No need for an adapter ring as virtually all style studio lights come standard with an umbrella receptacle to attach the Apollo light modifier.

The larger the light source, the softer the light. That is certainly the case with this extra large 50" JS Apollo featuring a 140° light spread. Perfect for portraits and couples, this unit also offers a recessed edge allow better control of light. Face the light forward through the white diffusion front for specular highlights. Specular highlights will provide a "hot spot" on your subject with a greater fall off from highlights to shadows. Diffusion fabrics are pure in color so the color temperature going into the fabric is the same color temperature coming back out. The large recessed edge provides even greater light control allowing feathering of light to see exactly where the light is starting and stopping.
