Product Overview

DPA's 4011ER is an omnidirectional microphone that features an integrated cable solution with rear cable entry. This allows hanging the microphone from the ceiling, as well as creating precise and repeatable mic positioning and angling when spot-miking orchestra sections or capturing atmospheric ambience. It's an exceptional choice for unobtrusively miking all types of performances, including television, film, theatre, concert, and studio, as well as spot-miking such as hanging or table use; this microphone has a length of only 3.5cm (1.4") and a low-key appearance. It's first-order cardioid pickup pattern provides quality separation between sound sources.

It's capable of handling high SPLs without distortion, with its close-miking usage minimizing bleed from other sources, so it's ideal for close-miking of various other instruments like acoustic guitar, drums, grand piano, and more. With its accessories, it can even be placed, for example, within the frame of a piano.

Its flat on-axis frequency response and superb phase response help deliver reproduction that's totally faithful to the original sound. And the off-axis response is similarly smooth, so that any leakage is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to its true first-order cardioid pickup pattern.

Additionally, at any time, and with no tools required, it's possible to transform the 4011ER into a new configuration (additional capsules/preamplifiers sold separately).
