The Tascam TM-80 needs to be re designed to live up to the hype of it being a large diaphragm condenser mic. It is not a LDC. I has a small 18mm capsule and it's sound is correspondingly thin as the result. It's not a bad mic although mine required remedial servicing right out out of the box but it is also not a great mic. There are better mics for similar money and one case in point a MXL V67 is a better mic for just a fraction more $$$$.
