The Sennheiser SL Bodypack DW is a bodypack transmitter for the SpeechLine Digital Wireless Microphone System, designed exclusively for speech- and lecture-related applications. The transmitter is easy to use, and provides a range of benefits to novice wireless system users – like optimal speech intelligibility, advanced 256-bit AES encryption, and license-free operation within the 1.9 GHz range. The transmitter also shares features of the Speechline DW system itself – including automatic frequency-, interference- and audio-level management.

This transmitter runs on Li-Ion battery technology, can operate up to 20 RF channels range (dependent on local regulations), and has app-based remote monitoring and maintenance available for iOS or Android via the Wireless System Remote. In addition, the bodypack transmitter features an LC display showing wireless link name, battery status, and reception quality.

Sennheiser SL Bodypack DW Features:

  • Frequency Management:
    • Allows on-site real-time scan upon starting up your system, finding frequencies without any need for manual fine tuning.
  • Audio Level Management:
    • Lets you adjust volume levels for audio clarity. Adjusts gain levels and sensitivity to ensure the best signal-to-noise ratio.
  • App-based remote monitoring and maintenance:
    • Lets you monitor and operate your wireless system via the Wireless System Remote available for iOS an Android.
  • Automatic Interference Management:
    • Seamlessly switches to a free wireless channel in the event of a frequency disturbance.
  • Optimal speech intelligibility: Audio presets for maleand female voices, as well as preconfigured sound profiles for dedicatedsettings.
  • Li-Ion battery technology: Up to 15 hours of batterypower
    • Additional power-related features include USB charging and system component runtime prediction
  • 256-bit AES encryption:
    • Strongest encryption algorithm for secure wireless transmission.
    • Encryption key(s) generated individually whenever a microphone connects to a receiver.
  • License-free operation within the 1.9 GHz range:
    • 1.9 GHz wireless frequency band is far less busy compared to other frequencies like Wi-Fi. Unaffected by legislative changes.

Consumer Alert

This particular wireless microphone device operates in portions of the 617-652 MHz or 663-698 MHz frequencies. Beginning in 2017, these frequencies are being transitioned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to the 600 MHz service to meet increasing demand for wireless broadband services. Users of this device must cease operating on these frequencies no later than July 13, 2020. In addition, users of this device may be required to cease operations earlier than that date if their operations could cause harmful interference to a 600 MHz service licensee’s wireless operations on these frequencies. For more information, visit the FCC’s wireless microphone website at or call the FCC at 1- 888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC).
