Applied Acoustics Systems has completely reinvented their guitar modeling plugin with Strum GS-2, combining both acoustic and electric guitars in a single, streamlined plugin interface that offers a huge selection of guitar types, effects, and loops that will work with nearly all Mac and Windows-based DAWs that use VST, AU, RTAS, or AAX native plugin types. Strum GS-2 can also be operated in standalone mode, if need be.

With so many different techniques that guitarists utilize to create their sound, producing realistic guitar tracks without actually playing a guitar has always been a tricky proposition. With Strum GS-2 you can take advantage of many different techniques such as alternate chord voicings thanks to this plugin's chord library that contains basic and extended chords available in open, movable, or drop voicings. You can also use your keyboard to create realistic strumming patterns by triggering down and upstrokes, scratches and mutes, or to create picking patterns using the arpeggio keys. Strum GS-2 also allows you to create slides and bends with the pitch wheel on your keyboard, or add vibrato with a modulation wheel, along with natural-sounding hammer-ons and pull-offs when playing lead lines.

Strum GS-2 comes with more than 200 different acoustic and electric guitars, including nylon, steel, single coil and humbucker fitted pickups, clean, crunch, and distorted. Along with all these different guitar presets, there are also 102 MIDI riffs included to cover a wealth of musical styles.

Strum GS-2 is even equipped with tools to create your very own guitar, with choices for pick shapes or finger styles, string materials, pickup types, body size and shape, and palm mutes, scratches, and hammer-ons. After you've created your masterpiece of a guitar, you can then add in a huge library of effects such as compression, equalizer, delay, distortion, phaser, chorus, flanger, wah wah and notch filters, and reverb. So no matter what style of music you want to play, Strum GS-2 will let you create guitar sounds that will impress.
