        2) In the Go to Folder window type or paste the following line: /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns
        3) Find this file: ‘AppleUSBFTDI.kext’ and drag it to the Desktop or a folder that you can locate if necessary. This makes a copy of the file (Unless  you are using another USB to Serial device you are unlikely to need  this file but we recommend you keep a copy in case you want to  restore it in the future.).
        4) Delete the original ‘AppleUSBFTDI.kext’ file (i.e. the one inside /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns)
        5) Restart the Mac
