Product Overview

Developed alongside its 8-channel rackmount big brother, the Radial Engineering Space Heater 500 is a single channel tube drive designed for 500 series racks. Its tube circuitry gives a range of effects on its own from subtle warmth and grit to full harmonic distortion.

The module begins with a 12AX7 tube with separate Level and Drive controls. A 3-position Heat switch enables the user to set the plate voltage between 35, 70 or 140 volts at the tube to vary the level of saturation from a little bit of grit to over the top distortion. An oversized transformer is employed at the output to bring vintage character and warmth to the signal path. Low pass and high pass filters let you focus the effect and may be inserted pre or post the distortion to suit. All this makes the Space Heater 500 an extremely fun module that delivers natural tube crunch to virtually anything you throw at it!

Once added to your 500 series rack, it functions as a piece of your customized channel strip, allowing you to achieve the exact sounds your recordings call for. Grab yours today to give your sound the iconic warmth and distortion of a vintage 12AX7 tube!
