Product Overview

Rosco offers the 132-Roll, a 1.2m x 7.62m (3.94ft x 25ft) roll of Quarter Hamburg Frost diffusion material.

The Hamburg family's unique, embossed optical structure produces a precisely softened beam edge and is engineered to maintain a crucial light-to-dark ratio. Manufactured on Rosco's proprietary, fire-retardant, polycarbonate base, these filters refract light without creating the unwanted flare and light-scatter commonly experienced with coated white diffusions. The lightest of the three Hamburgs, R132 just breaks the beam edge, making it perfect for long-throw followspots. The clean, crisp lines you expect now hold for longer throw distances. Perfect for front of house locations, or for shorter throws when just a hint of softness is needed.

Remember - Never use a plastic filter directly in front of an open faced lamp. This will nearly always cause premature failure because the heat is trapped and it has nowhere to go except to the plastic filter. Always allow a suitable air gap. For complete technical data of this filter - please review the attached image, or consult with your Rosco booklet.

NOTE: In October of 2013, new toolings were developed and introduced into Rosco's embossing production line that have allowed for improved process controls and consistent, long-term quality control. The result is a superior product with even tighter control over the beam softening effect. As new production material enters the marketplace, a nearly imperceptible tooling mark that repeats every 24 inches may be noticed on sheets and rolls of R114, R119 and R132. This tooling mark is a result of the new manufacturing process. It will not project, and will not, in any way, affect the use of the filter or its effect on stage. The upgraded materials will be denoted with a "+" before the number that is stamped at the bottom of the sheets and printed on the core tags of the rolls (Ex: R+114). This "+" delineation will help you keep your new and old inventories separate as we transition fully into the new product While the new versions of the Hamburg Frosts are virtually an exact match to the original filters, Rosco does not recommend using new and old materials in the same lighting system. A slight difference in the resulting beam-effect may be noticeable when both are installed in fixtures whose beams appear side-by-side on stage.
