The reason I bought this pedal is simply the way it clamps down on the drum ring. Finally. A pedal that has a chance of staying connected while it is being violently abused. I personally don't need double bass but it can be fun. I've had separate bass drums never a pedal like this one. I've never had a pedal that stays clamped. Any. Their all the same. Broke. Set tensions like all the rest. Downside. No spikes on pedal. Drill holes. Or switch right and left. Adjust
