To meet the demand for both extended operating range and extended battery life, the V series SM transmitters offer selectable output power ranging from 50 and 100 mW.  With higher power output, the perating range is improved at the expense of battery life, however when range is not an issue the power can be reduced to extend the battery life.

The SMV is compatible with the RM and RM2 remote control unites for hands free setup and adjustment using audible tones delivered into the microphones from a tiny loudspeaker in the remote control unit.  The transmitter can be put to sleep to conserve battery power during setup while the transmitter is buried deep inside costuming, then awakened for normal operation when the production begins.

The DSP-based design works with all Digital Hybrid receivers, and is backward compatible for use with Lectrosonics 200 and 100 series.

The input section features the servo bias input circuitry with a standard TA5M type jack for use with electret lavaliere mics, dynamic mics, or line level signals.  A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A-D converter.  The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB for excellent overload protection and a dual release envelope that makes the limiter acoustically transparant while maintaining low distortion.  The limiter recovers quckly from brief transients, with no distorion.

Consumer Alert

This particular wireless microphone device operates in portions of the 617-652 MHz or 663-698 MHz frequencies. Beginning in 2017, these frequencies are being transitioned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to the 600 MHz service to meet increasing demand for wireless broadband services. Users of this device must cease operating on these frequencies no later than July 13, 2020. In addition, users of this device may be required to cease operations earlier than that date if their operations could cause harmful interference to a 600 MHz service licensee’s wireless operations on these frequencies. For more information, visit the FCC’s wireless microphone website at www.fcc.gov/wireless-microphones-guide or call the FCC at 1- 888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC).
