VariZoom's SnapCrane is in a class all its own with fast, yet secure dovetail assembly joints and stainless steel aircraft pins - no expense was spared. The SnapCrane was designed for years of trouble-free use and reliability.
Jib arm sections all have industrial powder coating, and upper arm section is machined with a truss pattern to retain strength while reducing air resistance in breezes (caution: never use a camera crane in windy conditions)
Dovetail joint assembly allows for quick, extremely secure, no-tools connection with redundant safety locks. Above the dovetail, the hefty stainless steel latch (w/ internal safety catch) clamps the joint, while below, a secondary thumbscrew assures a tight and secure fit.
Brake system utilizes a heavy-duty plate that is securely mounted to the pivot section. Brake compression system is built into stator and designed to compress firmly and securely, but forgiving enough to slide under extreme force that could otherwise topple a locking-brake jib system.
Stainless steel marine-grade components make up our cable couplies, as well as heavy-duty coated cables designed for long life.
Locking stainless aircraft pins of the highest quality and strength are used at the pivot points, and they are attached to by lanyard to prevent them from ever being lost.
Varizoom's heavy-duty dolly has an ample spread and a positive leg-locking system that securely captures the TCR100 crane tripod.
Varizoom's custom-built crane tripod is the only tripod recommended for use with any crane, no matter the brand. Varizoom recommends you never use a telescoping or collapsible tripod under a crane, no matter how small. When supporting an expensive camera on a jib elevated above other valuable equipment or people, it is simply a no-brainer to eliminate all risk and use a single-section tripod instead of a telescoping type.
The TCR100 was designed with safety and strength in mind, combining a solid machined base-plate (not molded), specialty heavy-gauge tubing, and oversize stainless leveling feet for an ultra-stable design that will never falter or fail. With anodized aluminum, stainless steel fasteners and solid brass bushings, the TCR100 will last a lifetime.
The SnapCrane16-100 version is a SnapCrane kit with MC100.
Also includes all hardware, linkage and cable systems, balancing head (where the camera mounts), 20' video and lanc cables.
