The DME8O-ES is a programmable digital audio processing engine that allows complex audio systems to be designed and created via software running on a computer. The ES Series model comes equipped with EtherSound networking capability that provides easy setup for remote placement of analog input and output devices in temporary sound reinforcement systems. It offers greater freedom while reducing cabling costs. Overall system redundancy and reliability can be enhanced through distributed placement of analog I/O and signal processing.

EtherSound allows connection through a standard CAT5 LAN cable to distribute the audio. The star and daisy-chain connection between units provide the flexible and expandable connection in a local area such as in a recording studio or in a broadcast. The DME8o-ES features 8 analog audio outputs and the EtherSound consists of 16 channel audio input/output. The DME Satellite series allows remote operation via RS232C, GPI or Ethernet. The DME Satellite series is suitable for a wide range of installations with expandable capabilities.


  • Interfacing to 8 analog outputs and one EtherSound (16 in/out). EtherSound carries 64in/64out channel signal in a CAT5 LAN cable with the extremely low latency 120 microseconds (@48kHz).
  • 1U rack mount size with the powerful processing capability.
  • DME satellite series provides the audio distribution flexibly meet to large to small scale installation.
  • The higher model DME64N/DME24N works as the core for the large system.
  • The analog 4in/12out system can be configured with the DME4io-ES with the high performance of DSP processing.
  • High performance Yamaha DSP chip is mounted, and 80% of the processing capability of the DME24 is realized in 1U unit. (excluding Effects function on the DME24N)
  • The DSP chip provides versatile component including EQ, Crossover, Delay and etc. These components are realized by programming with the Yamaha DME designer application software running on the Windows PC.
  • High quality sound with 24bit/96kHz, and the acclaimed performance of mic-preamplifier, AD/DA and grounding technology.
  • The 9 pin serial communication terminal is for the AMXTM and CrestronTM, and the control the AD8HR (Yamaha A/D converter with the variable head-amplifier gain)
  • GPI terminal for the switch and fader control.
  • Ethernet connector and USB port for communication with the PC.
  • Optional LCD panel for the Ethernet connection, and the optional switch/fader panel for GPI connection.
