Product Overview

The BP4027 from Audio-Technica is a 14.96" long Stereo Shotgun mic whose design is based on models originally developed for use in the Sydney Olympics Broadcast in 2000. Engineered for high-end broadcast and production use, it features independent line-cardioid and figure-of-eight elements configured in an MS (Mid-Side) arrangement with switch-selectable internal matrixing. This matrixing allows sound recordists the choice of selecting a left-right stereo output (wide or narrow), or choosing discreet Mid-Side signals for later manipulation, a versatile feature not found from any other manufacturer. In addition, a switchable low-frequency (LF) roll-off filter helps to minimize the pickup of unwanted low-frequency noise. This phantom-powered model features a rugged, lightweight design and sleek black color scheme — great for on-camera use.
