I had to obtain this to replace a broken knob on a stand that is less than 6 mths old. The plastic wing-nut is molded around a standard bolt head, so the slightest pressure cracks the plastic. If you have the stand this part fits, I would recommend 1) tightening the nut to the very lightest torque possible, and 2) ordering and keeping at least two of these spare knobs on hand at all times for when (not if) the part cracks.

Ultimate Support used to supply parts for their American made products as a lifetime warranty covered item. Now they have a "Limited Lifetime" warranty that is limited to 7 years. This part on their site virtually the same price as here. Two of these knob parts equals about 1/4 of the price of buying a brand new pair of cheap but effective generic stands. The bolts and nuts are the weakest link in these stands, they strip out if made from cheap steel. For the price they should be the best steel.
