Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton Commends Full Compass Systems on Behalf of Governor Jim Doyle
October 5, 2009
Madison, WI - Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton presented Full Compass Systems with a Certificate of Commendation on behalf of Governor Jim Doyle during the company's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held at its headquarters on Thursday, October 1. Speaking to the over 450 guests present, Lawton praised Full Compass for its "extraordinary vision" and for "the creative genius" that has fueled Full Compass' continuous growth over the past 31 years. Lawton then did the honor of cutting a large red ribbon to signify the official start of the company's stay in their new, state-of-the-art facility.
Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz also attended the event. Each read a proclamation declaring the month of October "Full Compass Month" in Dane County and the City of Madison.
Full Compass, one of the nation's largest professional audio, video, A/V and lighting equipment retailers hosted the festivities to commemorate the opening of its new 140,000 square foot facility in Madison, Wisconsin. The company has outgrown three former buildings and this new facility marks Full Compass Systems' return to the city of Madison after being based in Middleton, WI for 15 years.
"We're delighted to welcome Full Compass back to Madison," stated Cieslewicz, adding, "It's where they should be."
Falk remarked on Full Compass' stability even during hard economic times when "they have continued to grow," and their ongoing dedication to the community by following a policy of hiring graduates of local institutions. "If that isn't loyalty to a community, I don't know what is," she concluded.
To further celebrate October as Grand Opening Month, Full Compass will host a free Expo and Party on October 23-24 with over 50 manufacturers participating including Shure, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, Panasonic, Sony, JBL, Allen and Heath, JVC, Yamaha and Roland. Live performances from local musicians and theatre groups will occur throughout the day, and attendees will have the chance to win prizes. Food will be served from the "Backstage Bistro," the in-house restaurant at Full Compass. Those who cannot attend in person are invited to join the celebration online, as the event will be streamed live at fullcompass.com both days.
"We want people to come and learn about all kinds of gear, enjoy some great entertainment and sample the wonderful food we serve at the Backstage Bistro," said Full Compass CEO Jonathan Lipp.
