Charity Golf Outing Aids Area Children
Full Compass Systems taps golfers, vendors & local businesses to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County

Waunakee, WI – The game of golf is a great way to bring people together to raise money for a good cause. On Saturday, May 16th at 8:00 a.m., The Meadows of Sixmile Creek in Waunakee, WI hosted the 7th Annual Full Compass Golf Event benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County.

Most encouraging was the participant count. Full Compass's Heather Paske, event founder and organizer, said the event has grown from 40 golfers the first year to nearly 120 the past two years. Donations this year reached $8,850 and next year's event is already planned for May 15, 2010.

A heavy wind made an otherwise beautiful day chilly and pulled many shots off course, but couldn't keep the golfers from having a good time. Later on, everyone enjoyed music from local DJ company Juke Box Bandstand.

Prizes included tickets to Ron White at the Crystal Grand Theater in Wisconsin Dells, WI, a four-pack of Milwaukee Brewers tickets, and a variety of golf packages, audio equipment and gift-cards. All participants in the event received gift bags and dinner. Top sponsors for the event included Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. and Full Compass Systems suppliers Audio-Technica, Bosch Communications, SurgeX, and M-Audio/Digidesign.

The Boys and Girls Club of Dane County provides recreational and educational activities for youth in the area, focusing on the disadvantaged. The goal of the Boys and Girls Club is to inspire all young people to realize their full potential. This is the fifth year the Full Compass Golf Event benefited the club.
