Full Compass gets into the swing of it for charity
July 14, 2007

Middleton, WI — For the fourth year running, Full Compass teed off into summer with its Annual Charity Golf Event. This year’s featured charity was the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA), which received an $8700 donation to help complete construction of a new BGCA facility in Fitchburg, WI. The purse was raised by 86 golfers who paid a $60 registration fee to play 18 holes at a local course, as well as with the help of donations made by area businesses and sales reps, vendors, and manufacturers Full Compass does business with.

"Almost 25% of each golf registrant's fee went directly to the BGCA," Full Compass National Sales Associate Heather Paske revealed. "We also raised additional funds for the cause on the day of the event by selling raffle tickets to our golfers that provided a shot at winning door prizes and a custom set of irons donated by Dean’s Custom Clubs of Cross Plains, WI. On the course, we sold mulligans and gimmie strings, and wagered on tee shots, with all winnings being donated.”

Paske, who has managed the charitable outing since its inception, received able organizational assistance this year from Full Compass' Wendy Brendel, Alana Rivers, Kristin LeDuc, Sue Englund, Deb Leis, Keith Post, Julie Kruser, Brooke Anderson, Jessica Coniber, and Greg Halom.

Full Compass, a worldwide supplier of professional audio, video, and lighting components, offers over 700 different product lines including sound reinforcement, recording, special effects lighting, acoustical treatment, and security products. Industry sponsors Audio-Technica, Telex/EV, the Harmon Group, Canon USA, Canon Still, Middle Atlantic, and Whirlwind USA also chipped-in to make the day a success, as did manufacturer's representatives Audio Biz and Powerlines Marketing. Other area donations came from Physician’s Plus and Chase Bank, which paid the registration fee for two spots on the links that were raffled off. Other raffle gifts came from area restaurants and businesses.

"In many communities boys and girls are left on their own to find recreation and companionship," Paske said shortly after the event. "Kids often are home alone without adult supervision because their parents are at work, or for any one of a number of other reasons. The BGCA is a safe haven to head to for after school programs that offer learning assistance, sporting activities, and most important of all, social acceptance. Young people need to know there is someone who cares, and we are glad we could help."
