Singing Out
Wisconsin Children’s Choir records at Full Compass
July 14, 2007
Middleton, WI — Recognized internationally for its mastery of diverse and challenging choral music, the Wisconsin Children's Choir launched its annual summer touring season this year with a stop at Full Compass Systems, where members of its advanced Chorale Choir recorded nine songs. Audio and video of the performance were captured entirely within the digital domain using Sony Vegas, Pro Tools, a Canon XL-H1 camera, and microphones from Earthworks, Rode, and Crown.
Studio time was donated by The Full Compass Charitable Contributions Committee. Full Compass' Product Manager Kevin Peckham led an internal team of volunteers that managed all aspects of the recording session.
"Our Charitable Contributions Committee has sponsored a number of fundraising events for the Children's Choir in the past," Peckham relates. "This, however, is the first time we decided to do something like this. The idea's genesis found its roots in a suggestion from National Sales Manager John Vitale to have the group perform here. It seemed only natural that we would record the performance. Hearing and seeing the choir do what it does best is an uplifting and dynamic experience."
Full Compass is a worldwide supplier of professional audio, video, AV, and lighting products, and offers over 700 comprehensive lines including sound reinforcement, recording, special effects lighting, acoustical treatment, and security products.
